Professional Civil Engineer

Position: Senior registered civil engineer to lead PCI’s habitat restoration design group.

PCI’s current focus is design of stream rehabilitation, fish passage, aquatic and riparian habitat enhancement, rainwater storage, stormwater management, wetland and pond creation, and related projects. Typical civil engineering subject matter associated with PCI projects includes:

Hydrology and hydraulics for flood flows, fluvial geomorphic assessment and sediment transport design, freshwater and estuary aquatic and riparian ecology, stream crossings, and fish passage
Dam removal planning, design, and construction
Natural channel planning, design, and construction
In-channel aquatic habitat design and construction
California water rights
Rural small community water supply planning for restoration of instream flow

We are looking for someone with:

Capacity and desire to lead a team
Collaborative working style
Willingness to manage and mentor staff
Facility with client relationships

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience
Passionate about the natural environment
Curious, committed to keeping up-to-date
Self-confident, able to work with people with multiple backgrounds, perspectives, and strong opinions
Able to engage with funders, regulators, and clients in critical thinking about project design, funding, and construction feasibility
Familiarity with construction
Familiarity with programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD (Civil 3d), single section analyzers
Advanced degree and consulting experience an asset

Duties:

Allocate and monitor work assignments
Foster excellence, productivity, and a positive work environment
Lead designs
Supervise others practicing civil engineering
Develop and implement marketing strategies for PCI design services with CEO
Foster business development through forming and maintaining client relationships
Lead proposal efforts
Full time work commitment
